Benidorm Is One Of Spain's Most Popular Vacation Spots

By Greg Hansward

If you want a fun vacation destination, head to Benidorm. Holidays in Benidorm, Spain, will probably be the most fun you will ever have.

You won't believe the choices there are here. This city only 45 km from Alicante and its airport has more than 35,000 hotel beds and more than 200,000 apartments. You will easily find a great place to sleep. You can find a hotel room, an apartment or even a villa to live in for weeks at a time, at any time of year. Of course, summer time is the busiest, so you will want to book your summer vacation rental early.

Once you land at Alicante Airport, you will easily get ground transportation. The best bet is to rent a car so you can get around independently. There are 20 rental car companies in town so you are sure to find the vehicle you are looking for, in the price range you need.

There are also buses, trains and taxis available as alternative transportation options. As you make your travel plans contact the local tourist bureau for information on train and bus schedules and transfers. These are fun ways to travel around the region because you get to meet the local people. Bus and train travel can also be very economical.

Once you check into your accommodations, it is time for the fun part: exploring Benidorm. This city has it all: beaches, attractions and nightlife. You can spend your days soaking up the sun on the Costa Blanca. Or you can wander through the city exploring its museums and cultural events. (Because the weather is so mild, there is always a festival going on somewhere.) You will really like exploring the many shops in the area, which offer truly unique souvenirs. Your loved ones will really treasure the gifts you buy for them here.

If you have children (or if you are young at heart), you will surely spend a lot of time at Benidorm's theme park. There is also a water park and a nature museum that have something to offer for the whole family.

All this activity is bound to make you hungry. Well, you certainly won't starve as the area has many great dining options, from snacks to four-course gourmet meals. Be sure to sample the local cuisine, which is delicious.

If you have not worn yourself out with all the daytime activity, remember there is plenty to do when the sun sets. There is plenty of nightlife, including taverns, clubs and theaters. You can easily dance the night away, then rest your feet lounging at the beach the next day. Can you think of a more perfect vacation experience?

Benidorm has long been one of Europe's most popular vacation destinations. Book your trip now to see what you have been missing.
