Enjoy An African Safari Adventure

Do you love being outdoors? Is your idea of vacation involve spending time observing wildlife in their natural habitat? If so, an African safari vacation may be the ideal vacation for you.

African safari vacations are popular right now. They're so popular that you'll find many travel agencies and companies offering packages designed to provide tourists a taste of African safari adventure. These package tours are accompanied by experts.

If you choose to go with one of these African safari vacations, you'll mostly stay in lodges and camping grounds. Don't worry though -- hot showers will be available. There will also be a cook in the tour who'll prepare your meals and barbecues.

Kenya is a popular destination for African safari vacations. There are packages that include a beach holiday. With 40 national parks and game reserves, you'll have plenty of things to see in Kenya. For instance, you may travel to the Kimana Game Sanctuary that's located at the foot of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro.

Two other popular national parks in Kenya are the Mount Kenya National Park, which is a rich rain forest, and Masai Mara, which consists of stretching plains. If you happen to go on one of the African safari vacations in Kenya, your guide will drive you and the other tourists either in 4x4 vehicles, open back trucks or mini buses.

If you want to see the landscape from the air, you can opt for any one of the African safari fly/drive packages that will let you see the views from the air in a small light plane. Expect to see gazelles, leopards, giraffes, crocodiles, lions, zebra and hippos on your African safari vacation in Kenya.

South Africa is another beautiful country, teeming with wild animals. An African safari here offers a great variety of landscape, including wetlands, semi-desert, open grassland and old forest. The Phinda region is popular and can be explored on foot, by vehicle or light aircraft.

There are some packages that take tourists by boat. You'll likely to see rhinos, lions, buffalo, elephants and leopards. If you take a tour to the Madikwe Game Reserve, you'll be able to spot elephants, leopards, packs of wild dogs and hyenas.

Uganda and Rwanda are also popular African safari destinations. Uganda is the perfect destination if you want to see chimpanzees and lowland gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorillas abound at Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

To see the different bird species of Uganda, you can walk through the Mgahinga Volcanoes, a tropical rain forest, on foot. The Queen Elizabeth National Park has a great savanna wherein you can see giraffes, elephants, birds and antelopes. Another popular destination that can be reached by boat is the Murchisson Falls National Park. The waterfall is a sight to behold and you'll see wildlife that includes zebras, baboons and warthogs.

Rwanda is famous for its mountain gorillas and there is said to be 350 of them in the tree lined slopes of the Parc National des Volcans. The Uganda and Rwanda region, with its volcanoes, falls, lakes and forests is a treasured area and offers the best chance of seeing gorillas in their natural surroundings.
