A day In Havana
Walking around the streets of Havana is undeniably a must do in your Cuba Holidays. I would like to introduce you to what in my modest opinion represent the most interesting street walks in Havana.
El Malecon: This is by far the most beautiful see front promenade in the whole of the Caribbean. A walk takes about 1 to 2 hours depending on how many stops and cocktails you have along the way. You can even strip off your cloth and sun bath while resting on the top of the wall like so many others do.
Paseo del Prado:Also known as "Paseo Jose Marti" became from the beginning of the 20th Century the most expensive place to live in Havana. Along this beautiful promenade one can admire the astonishing architecture of what in their own time were the best properties of Havana.
Calle Obispo: This is probably the busiest pedestrian street in the whole of Havana. It is located in the Old Town and it is about 2 kilometers long. Calle Obispo begins in the spot where the Village of Havana was founded almost 400 years ago.
Calle San Rafael: It was once the busiest high street of Havana full of retail shops and cafes. Today it is still one of the must see places in Havana. It is Located in Central Havana and it connects Paseo del Prado with Galeano Street. These two streets are also very popular.
Calle Galiano: This street is located in the municipality of Centro Habana right at the end of San Rafael Street. It is full of shops, theatres and night clubs. Perhaps the most famous night club in Havana ?Casa de La Musica? is located in Galiano Street.
Havana is a must see city and if you did not think about including at least few nights in Cuiba?s Capital then I suggest you reconsider your schedule; for Havana is the most vibrant and enigmatic province in Cuba.
